WC-1477z: Early 19th Century American Small Fan Back Windsor Side Chair

$295.00

Early 19th century American small fan back Windsor Side Chair.

Early 19th century American small fan back Windsor Side Chair. Walnut with old black worn stain. Apparently once a rocker, modified likely in the early 20th century – see spliced repairs at the bottom of each foot where the rockers attached – the stain was likely added at that time to blend the spliced feet. Slight movement where one of the rear legs meets the seat with old nail added for stabilization. Provenance: early American furniture specialist, Dr. Elizabeth Daniel, Gooseneck Antiques, Chapel Hill, NC, 1970s. 21″ w., 18″ d., 35″ h.
