English circa 1860 lap desk box on custom made side table stand. Highly figured burl walnut and mahogany secondary wood. Brass corner edge bindings and brass outlined engraving pate and escutcheon. Original gilt tooled leather writing surface with later leather pulls. Replaced cover for spring mechanism (sticks a bit) to reveal two long hidden interior drawers. Antique inkwell, rim chips, lacks cover. Condition commensurate with age and use. Box: 15.75″ x 9.63″ x 6.88″ h. Overall: 16.25″ w., 10.13″ d., 21.13″ h.
