Circa 1960 Eero Saarinen Womb Chair & Ottoman, Knoll, USA. Designed in 1948 at the request of Frances Knoll. This chairs was acquired circa 1960 by Dr. & Mrs. Julius Stratton, President of MIT at the time & when Saarinen was involved in multiple MIT projects. It descended to their daughter & now leaves the family. Reupholstered at some point. The chair with black finished steel structure & the ottoman with chrome plated steel structure. No labels. Ottoman lacks cushion. Chair: 38″ w., 29.25″ d., 35 1/8″ h. Ottoman: 21.25″ w., 20″ d., 14″ h.
