Signed & dated 1928 Watercolor on Silk by R.C. Matsuyama of “Tulips in a Vase”. R.C. Matsuyama was born in Japan 1880 and died in Holborn, London in 1954.

A watercolor enclosed by decorative watercolor border, body color, and gold border. John Ruskin championed Goodwin & took him on a tour of Europe, including Tuscany 1872-1880, likely the genesis of this work.

Late 19th century watercolor by F.J. Aldridge “The Double Locks, Exeter Canal”. Frederick James Aldridge, 1850-1938. Signed lower right “F.J. Aldridge”.

Mid-late 19th century Watercolor by H.B. Brabazon “Flowers in a Vase”. This is a rare & important still life by Brabazon, displaying his ethereal technique to greater advantage than the customary travel scenes from his fascinating life.

Brought back by the current owner’s great aunt on a visit after the discovery in 1922 of King Tut’s tomb.

Each signed & dated lower right E. Booty, 1859. The arches define each, as do the people & activities – a Middle Eastern city scene & a Dutch city scene.
