Circa 1850-60 Tunbridge Ware Tea Caddy Box, English. Featuring Eridge Castle on the lid. Two interior lidded wells for tea. Old label on bottom: Eridge Castle, Sussex. Micro mosaic bands including a wide floral band on the concave body. Note even the escutcheon is Tunbridge Ware work. Harry Hollamby designed this view of the castle, a Gothic Style country house built in 1787, it was demolished in the 1930s. Lacks original bun feet. Back right corner has tiny abrasion & a few micro mosaic edge pieces are lacking. 9″ x 5″ x 4 5/8″ h.
