Continental walnut writing table desk, late 19th century. Likely French or Italian. Rectangular form raised on straight, tapered legs ending in brass & white ceramic casters; two drawers. Line inlays accentuate all sides & the legs. The top of great figure with line inlaid crossbanding, intertwined line inlays, & crossbanding to the molded edge. Stamped brass escutcheons, edging & cartouche mounts. Base mounts at the end of the legs (some restored). Overall good estate condition with marks, scuffs, & shrinkage commensurate with age & use. 42.25″ x 25.25″ x 29.5″ h.
