Circa 1950s set of 4 Bertoia chromed steel chairs by Knoll. With original winter seat covers. Designed in 1952 by Harry Bertoia for Knoll. Very good condition commensurate with 60-70 years of use. Foot pads replaced & worn. Seat covers by Knoll need minor seam stitching in a few spots. Some lightly corroded spots on the legs.

These chairs were purchased from IBM in the 1970s by a major Mid Century Modern collector who had them in her collection until now. At that time, the IBM corporation furnished nearly exclusively with Knoll pieces. These specific covers were only made by Knoll for these specific chairs.
