Circa 1853-67 silver plate on copper pair of Armorial candlesticks, English. Classical design in Corinthian column form with stop-fluting; gadroon & shell borders; acanthus leaf corners. The crest is of a dolphin over a pair of flagged arrows, uniting 2 families. Made by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co, Sheffield, 1853-1867 marks. They were successors to Old Sheffield Plate maker & renowned for their execution of Classical revival forms of the 18th century. 12.25″ h., 5″ x 5″ base.
