Circa 1815 Regency period breakfront cabinet chiffonier, English. Simple, stately & stylish. Rosewood with mahogany secondary wood. Three cabinet doors each with criss-crossing brass grillwork with pleated fabric backing.

Early-mid 18th century Baroque carved & gilt column, European. Likely Italian from a chapel or church. Carved wood and gilded. Three female figures encircle the base. Acanthus leaf carved & scrolled capital. Well fluted body. 

Fame 1906 Art Nouveau waterfall form biscuit tin box by Huntley & Palmers, English. The bottom touts the fame of the company with Royal Appointments to the Kings of England, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Japan, Siam, The Prince of Wales, “Ec Ec”. The painted inlaid tambour openings somewhat stiffened over time, but still functional.

A “Duke of Gloucester” pattern porcelain shell shaped sweetmeat dish, circa 2000, by Mottahedeh. Created in 1992. Hand painted & gilded. Made for Colonial Williamsburg’s special Reserve Collection. Adapted form a c.1770 platter at Colonial Williamsburg that belonged to the Duke.

Mid-19th century Chinese portrait of a lady painted on rice or pith paper. Qing dynasty. Gouache watercolors creating a rich tapestry of colors of this lady at ease. Note how 3-dimensional things become. Her shoes are off, a cushion & throw are being brought to her.
