Circa 1780 French Louis XVI period marble top commode or chest of drawers. Mahogany with superb figured grey and white marble top conforming to the columnar form of the chest. Well mounted in bronze with hexagonal back plate modified bail and rosette form original pulls. Fluted columns flank the three long drawers – the top one as 3 short faux drawers, with divided interior. Elegant and delicate sabots. Oak secondary wood. 50 1/8″ w., 23″ d., 34.75″ h.
