Late 19th-early 20th century carousel horse on custom stand, American. A fine & fun example. Restored prior to the current owner’s acquisition of it, it likely had handles to mount & grasp & perhaps for stirrups where there are now filled spots on each side. Horse hair tail. Cream colored with finely sculpted mane; brown bridle; maroon, green & gilt saddle with well carved cherubic face at the rear. Now on custom carved oak stand, possibly utilizing part of the original poles from the ride. Good overall condition with discoloration and shrinkage commensurate with age. The ears sit in their spots but are not attached. Base 37″ long. 56″ h., 43″ shin to tail, 18.75″ d. at base.
