Wood, canvas, leather & brass studding all combine to make a unique end table, storage trunk at the end of the bed, etc. From 737 E Franklin St, Chapel Hill having belonged to Dr. William de Berniere MacNider (1891-1951) who built the house around 1918. MacNider papers, bio, etc. are online through UNC Library. Leather straps & interior fittings partially intact, one handle as is; various old labels & label remnants. Marks & scuffs commensurate with age & use. 41″ w., 24″ d., 26″ h.
