Emigrating to England, he became part of an intriguing & important group of Japanese artists working in the early decades of the 20th century, many of whom studied at the Chelsea School of Art, including Matsuyama. This on the cover plate from a posthumous show by J. Collins & Son, Christmas, 1987 (show catalog accompanies the piece).
